Of all the elements, the Sage should take water as his preceptor.
Water is yielding but all-conquering.
Water extinguishes Fire, or finding itself likely to be defeated, escapes as steam and re-forms.
Water washes away Soft Earth, or, when confronted by rocks, seeks a way round.
Water corrodes Iron till it crumbles to dust; it saturates the atmosphere so that Wind dies.
Water gives way to obstacles with deceptive humility, for no power can prevent it following its destined course to the sea.
Water conquers by yielding; it never attacks but always wins the last battle.
The Sage who makes himself as Water is distinguished for his humility.
He embraces passivity, acts from non-action and conquers the world.

This a wonderful piece. I keep coming back to it many times especially in times of confusion, moments when some role model seems necessary.  And anytime I’m back there is still something new to read in between the lines, to better understand and use the advice.

It is also very specific text. Written 10 centuries ago, born in a different culture, it still carries messages which ring the bell now. It does for me. It does for many whom I have introduced to it.

This workshop is an introduction for those who may be interested in the full Head, Neck, and Shoulders Relaxation course (a 36 hour, in-depth training), or for anyone who just wants to learn the basics.

At this level, techniques are practiced fully clothed while sitting in a regular chair, making it possible to use them in everyday situations when your family, partner, or client requires help the most. Part of this training is dedicated to developing the student’s ability to recognize the signs of energetic blockages in the face and posture.


As a relationship progresses through time and weathers life’s difficulties, mutual feelings can cool and grow distant. Through the Couple’s Workshop you create a time in which to reverse that process.

You will meet your partner in a new situation; freeing you to learn and practice how to understand their energetic needs, and release the existing tension and tiredness you’re both holding on to. You will leave with the experience and practice to take home and enjoy the prolonged benefits to yourselves and your relationship.

This class counters progressing deterioration, improves one’s ability to walk, helps with getting up and sitting down, and climbing up the stairs.

We live in the comfort of modern society, but not using our legs as our ancestors used to take a high toll on our body’s “Transportation System”. This class counters progressing deterioration, improves one’s ability to walk, getting up and sitting down, or climbing up the stairs. As a part of the training, participants will be instructed in an exercise which they can then practice at home. Seniors are welcome to this class as, when we grow older, we all tend to be more prone to experiencing “Transportations System“ issues.

Proactive steps can restore mobility. Certain situations may require consultation with the Qi Gong instructor.

This class is currently available at the Mercer County Library, every Thursday from 4-5pm.

Goals the Students Will Practice Achieving

  • The physical comfort and emotional balance gained from increased energy flow For this, a short version of a Yin Qi Gong with frequent repetitions will be practiced. After six weeks, a student will be able to properly follow the instructor in the entire form.
  • Renewed internal connectivity and increased awareness of the body, including a naturally-calming breathing process

Students will learn how to approach the hidden blockages causing discomfort in their bodies, gaining experience in how to apprehend their heightened levels of emotion in a peaceful, non-confrontational manner.

  • Improve emotional self-resistance and understanding
  • Gain the emotional strength and balance to resist stresses
  • Learn how to peacefully distance yourself from your emotions and those of other people

The students will gain knowledge on how emotions flow energy through the body to be able to approach them as a normal part of their life instead of as an emotional roller coaster. Necessary to enhance the results elements of energetic therapy like The Theory of the Five Elements and understanding the principle of the Yin/Yang is the basis for this aspect of training.
